Placeholder: How to flash a microcontroller

This note is a placeholder. The real how-to will explain how to put new firmware on a board without bricking it.

What you would do

1. Install the board tools for the chip you actually use.
2. Build the firmware image.
3. Flash it, then read the serial log to confirm the board booted.
